ADO Bus Service – Cancun Airport

ADO (Tel +52 1 800 369 4652) connects the airport with the terminals of Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Belize, Chiquilá, Carrillo Puerto, Mahahuai, Plaza Terra Viva, Puerto Morelos, Mérida and Valladolid.

Cancun: Cars leave every 30 minutes and travel time is 30 min. to the city terminal ($ 94.00).

Playa del Carmen: The bus leaves every 30-45 min. and the journey time is 1 hour ($ 208.00).

Tulum: The bus leaves every 45 min. and the duration of the trip is 2 hours ($ 276.00).

The company has counters in the Arrivals Halls of the terminals. Payment is in cash, so it is recommended to have a change of dollar bills (5, 10, 20) or even better if you already arrive in Mexico with some Mexican pesos. This recommendation is due to the fact that the exchange rate at the airport is very unfavorable and if you pay for a ticket with a large ticket (eg 100 USD) the change is given in Mexican pesos but at a much lower exchange rate than the official one. And in turn, ATMs charge a very high extra commission for withdrawal.
